Where To Stay In Amazonas

The accommodation in the Department of Amazonas largely reflects the spectacular archaeological and natural environment in which it is located.

From lodges designed for viewing hummingbirds, such as the rare and beautiful Marvellous Spatuletail, in the shadow of Kuelap Fortress, to one overlooking Gocta Falls, to a guesthouse in the grounds of a Mummy Museum, the properties are idiosyncratic and exciting.

Gocta Andes Lodge was absolutely stunning. The staff tries to help you in any way possible.
The food is delicious and the views were the best.

Casa Mallqui won on all fronts. Situated next to the mummy museum, it felt like a real once-in-a-lifetime spot to stay.

The rooms were really lovely, with beautiful views. Quiet grounds, with gorgeous flowers.

Ayoko, the innkeeper, tended to our every need with grace and care. The food cooked by her was the best we had by far on our entire trip.
