The 31-passenger Estrella Amazonica, or 'Amazon Star' in English, is indeed a shining star in the Peruvian Amazon cruise fleet. With over 34 years experience in Amazon River cruises, her owners were one of the pioneers of tourism in the region, and in 2013 took all their accumulated knowledge to create this beautiful riverboat.

It has the modern facilities you would expect from a new boat, including private balconies, en-suite facilities and lecture and fitness rooms. It also features interconnectable cabins and suites, ideal for families.

For the more active, there are kayaks on board that can be used for serene, Amazon paddling.

Despite these modern facilities, it still retains its expedition charm, having been classically designed and built using locally-sourced, sustainable woods, and furnished to a high standard.

Her 6-day Amazon Cruise & Rainforest Lodge combination package lets lucky passengers discover the best of the Amazon from all angles, with aquatic excursions, nocturnal safaris, jungle hikes, indigenous encounters, and even aerial views from a canopy walkway. The accommodation is a combination of three nights on board the Estrella Amazonica, one night at Ceiba Tops Lodge and one night in Lima.

Her epic 8-day Amazon River tour covers more than 600 miles on the Amazon and its tributaries, allowing guests to travel deep into the protected Pacaya-Samiria Reserve, and giving unrivaled access to the Peruvian rain forest’s most pristine areas. This remote access, in the company of some of the river’s most knowledgeable guides, gives her passengers the best chance of spotting rare wildlife that would otherwise not be seen.

The villages and tributaries visited are also continuously varied to ensure guests experience the most authentic rain forest adventure possible.

Daily excursions include pre-dawn birding, school visits in local villages and even piranha fishing. Spot monkeys, birds, sloths and other mammals, pink and grey dolphins and so much more.

Quite simply, this combination of stunning wildlife, friendly villagers and insightful guides is unsurpassed.
