Operating on the Marañón and Ucayali rivers - and where they join to become the Amazon River - expert naturalist guides lead daily excursions in expedition boats into hidden lagoons and tributaries, providing close encounters with exotic flora and fauna including menacing caiman, colourful birds, playful monkeys, and elusive river dolphins.
On dry land, enjoy cultural visits to ribereño (riverside) communities, where traditional lifestyles and crafts offer unique insights into Amazonian heritage.
For the adventurous, there may be the chance to go kayaking or swimming in the calm ‘black water’ of the Samiria River.
