What our clients say about Muyuna Amazon Lodge:

Muyuna and the waterways around it are absolutely wonderful.

The wildlife is amazing - birds, reptiles, amphibians, dolphins.

The accommodation is excellent, with screened-in rooms, surprisingly good hot water (given that it’s all solar-heated), knowledgeable and friendly staff (our guide, Donaldo, was wonderful), the food was plentiful and far higher quality than you might expect (thanks Percy!).

If you can arrange it, and you’re feeling adventurous, the 24-hr camping trip is great - truly in the Amazonian wilderness.

If you’re inclined to take a break from Internet connectivity this is the best place I can think of to do so. We’ll be back!

Muyuna was great ... the lodge, the food, the guide - everything was wonderful. I felt really welcome.

All the excursions were exciting, I even survived seeing not only one tarantula 😉.

Inbetween I spent hours in my hammock ... adventurous and relaxing at the same time - it has been a great time!

The lodge was great and we had a fun time with our guide George who was a wonderfully knowledgeable man.

We had an amazing time in the Amazon with Muyuna. We saw a ton of wildlife from caiman, sloths, river dolphins, capybaras, to lots of different birds including prehistoric birds and macaws!

Our guide was super knowledgeable and accommodating, and we loved hearing about his experiences growing up and guiding in the jungle.

Camping out a night in the jungle and swimming with the dolphins in the Amazon River were for sure some of the highlights, plus the food at the lodge!

We landed in the capital, Lima, and swiftly kicked off with a trip to Iquitos, the gateway to the Northern Peruvian Amazon. Here we stayed in our first Amazon lodge, Muyuna.

We headed down the river by boat and eventually arrived at the incredibly impressive lodge. We had a warm welcome from the staff and we were introduced to our guide Julio.

The rooms were comfortable with mosquito nets all the way around the walls to stop any unwanted visitors getting in and we’d often return to the lodge after a few hours walking to cool off under the ceiling fan.

The activities were excellent and varied, including rainforest walks both in the day and at night, boat excursions spotting wildlife, swimming in the Amazon river, fishing and a number of activities to do around the lodge.

We found plenty of wildlife during our visit including the famous pink river dolphins and Julio was always on hand with his expert knowledge to help us learn more.

Once our fantastic stay at Muyuna was over, we flew back to Lima and took a bus down the coast to Paracas.

What a trip! The Peruvian Amazon is an unparalleled haven of biodiversity, and we were really happy to be able to share some time together. We have been friends for over 23 years, and our Amazon trip allowed us time to catch fish, catch up, and take stock of what really matters.

Being able to fish while we were surrounded by monkeys, dolphins, sloths, butterflies, and a huge array of birds was incredible.

Thanks for setting up everything at Muyuna Lodge! I’ll certainly be in touch.
